What Should I Do If My A/C Blows Warm Air?

Posted on June 27th, 2016 by Jupiter Tequesta

ac repair jupiterA broken air conditioning system on a hot summer day can be insufferable. Before you panic — here are a few steps to follow when your air conditioning system blows warm air instead of cool air.

Follow these steps:

  1. Change Your Air Filter – When was the last time you changed the air filter in your home’s unit? A clogged air filter can keep air from flowing freely throughout your home. This could be why your air conditioner isn’t blowing cool air as efficiently.
  2. Clear Any Debris – Check to see if there is any debris blocking your condenser coils and blades. Be sure to turn your system OFF before handling any debris inside of your condenser.
  3. Check the Blades – Check to see if the fins on your air conditioning condenser are bent. This could keep your air conditioning unit from working properly. If you’re not sure how to fix your fan blades, it is best to leave it to a professional HVAC technician.
  4. Call A Technician – If changing your air filter and restoring your condenser does not work, there might be a problem with your refrigerant. It is best to leave these air conditioning problems to a professional technician like the ones at Jupiter-Tequesta.
