Should You Buy a Generator for Hurricane Season?

Posted on June 2nd, 2015 by Jupiter Tequesta

Yesterday was the official start to the Atlantic hurricane season. And although forecasters are saying it will be a quiet one, that doesn’t mean we’ll completely escape any severe weather.

Should You Buy a Generator for Hurricane Season

So should you buy a generator for hurricane season? You probably should, and here’s why:

Things get uncomfortable fast. Here in South Florida, even an hour without air conditioning can be excruciating. Can you imagine having no AC for days, even weeks? A home generator will provide the electricity needed to keep your home cool.

Perishable foods won’t last long. A good generator can keep your refrigerator running. Depending on the severity of a storm, you may need the food that’s in your fridge — especially if you can’t get to a store.

Your business shouldn’t have to close its doors. Time is money. The longer your business is without power, the more in debt you will become. Your business shouldn’t have to shut down just because the power’s out!

Every kid needs a nightlight. And so do some adults! Having a generator will allow you to keep at least a few lights on during and after the storm. This will not only help everyone keep calm, but is also important for security reasons.

Jupiter-Tequesta Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electric‘s skilled electricians can help you choose and set up the right generator for your needs. Should you buy a generator for hurricane season? The ultimate decision is up to you, but we wouldn’t try to brave a storm without one!
