Laundry Room Renovation Ideas

Posted on July 22nd, 2020 by Jupiter Tequesta

You’re always using your laundry room, so it’s essential that it is functional and allows you to get all your clothes and laundry washed without frustration. In order to ensure this, a renovation might be in order for this room. Here are some ideas that offer both comfort and accessibility:

Add a Laundry Sink

Adding a sink to your laundry room will make your life much more comfortable. It’s vital to rinse down material that has been stained or heavily dirtied, but it can be a hassle to have to run to the bathroom sink to do that. Consider adding a sink so that all your washing needs can be done in one room.

Change Your Lighting

Don’t settle for flickery, low lighting when trying to do your laundry. You want to see what you’re doing, so a switch in your lights can help a lot– especially if you’re a dilly-dallier who waits until nighttime to start a load of laundry.

Relocate Your Water Heater

Your water heater isn’t the cutest thing to look at, so when it takes up more than half of your laundry space, you’ll notice it every time. Try relocating your water heater to a less noticeable spot. You also don’t want it too close to your washer, since it might affect the machine’s inner workings. Another option is to switch to a tankless unit, as they can take up less space or be mounted on the wall.

Add Decoration

There’s nothing wrong with personalizing your laundry room! Create a cute theme for the walls and decoration, or go with a color coordination idea that matches your washer and dryer. Put up photos and paintings and create a space that makes it feel like more than just a laundry room!
