3 Tips for Preventing Air Conditioner Condensation
Air conditioning systems that produce extra condensation can wreak havoc on your home. You simply do not want to deal with the resulting water damage! Below, we the experts of Jupiter-Tequesta Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electric offer tips for preventing air conditioner condensation:
1. Have your system routinely inspected
It’s advised that you inspect your unit’s AC condensation line for moisture every time you change your air filter. If you don’t feel comfortable doing it yourself, call us! We’re more than happy to take a look.
2. Check for clogs
When algae builds up inside your condensation line, water will overflow and drip. This line should be cleaned every 3-6 months, keeping things running smoothly and preventing air conditioner condensation from causing problems. Contact a professional for a thorough clean.
3. Collect dripping water
If the condensate line drips outside, don’t just let it fall freely. Instead, collect the free water with a barrel, and use it to water plants! This will not only stop air conditioner condensation from damaging your home, but will also save water.
Air conditioner condensation is natural, but don’t let it get excessive. These tips should help you understand what’s normal and whether or not a problem needs to be addressed.
