Why Won’t My Toilet Stop Running?
Here are a few of the most common reasons why your toilet is running long after it’s been flushed.
There’s something wrong with the chain in your toilet tank.
Check the connection between your flush level and the rubber flapper in your toilet bowl tank. If the chain is too short or long, it might interfere with how the flapper closes (and stops the tank from running).
The flapper in your tank is broken.
The rubber flapper in your tank opens and closes when you flush your toilet. If this flapper is worn or broken, it can cause a leak.
Your float is in the wrong position.
The float in your toilet tank might be too high. Check the rod that connects your float to the pump and position it so that the float rests lower.
