3 Easy Ways to Conserve Water

Posted on March 19th, 2015 by Jupiter Tequesta

Water conservation is important not only for your wallet, but also for the environment. We at Jupiter-Tequesta Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electric understand that changing old habits can sometimes be a challenge. Below, we’ve simplified the process for you. Here are three easy ways to conserve water.

1. Purchase a low-pressure showerhead

Switching to a more efficient shower head can “slash bathing-water consumption 50 to 70 percent,” reports Good Housekeeping. You should have no problem installing one of these devices by yourself. With prices starting at just $8 per showerhead, you can afford to buy one for every bathroom!

2. Turn off the water when you’re brushing

Brushing your teeth might only take a minute or two, but leaving the water running is a bigger waste than you realize. The EPA reports that most bathroom faucets flow at a rate of two gallons. Turning off the tap while you brush can save up to 8 gallons of water every day per person.

3. Have your car professionally washed

Car washes have perfected the art of getting cars clean as efficiently as possible. People who wash their cars at home use 2 to 3 times as much water than do commercial car washes. Now you have an excuse to pay someone else to wash your car!

There are so many easy ways to conserve water. Do your part to save water! Share your water conservation tips with Jupiter-Tequesta Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electric on Facebook, Twitter and Google+.
